Goal setting is two-fold. In our careers, we want to focus on both long term and short term goals. Long term goals help us focus on what is important to us in our professional lives and on our career path. They give us something to aim for and ensure we are developing skills and cultivating experiences that keep us sharp and marketable and aid in our professional growth. Long term goals can be one year out, several years out, or even 10-15 years in the future. Short term goals help us accomplish our long term goals. Short term goals include things we want to accomplish this week, this month, or this year.
